Forensic Interviewing
JULIE S, MSW, LICSW, Lead Forensic Interviewer
Julie joined CornerHouse in 2006 as a Forensic Interviewer and Trainer and is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Social Work. With extensive experience conducting forensic interviews, providing professional training locally and internationally, and testifying as an expert witness, Julie is passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and vulnerable adults through their healing journeys. Now serving as the Lead Forensic Interviewer, she collaborates with leadership to develop and enhance CornerHouse’s forensic interviewing practices and team.
ANNE L M, LSW, Forensic Interviewer and Trainer
Anne joined CornerHouse in 1993 and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a Social Work emphasis and a minor in Psychology from Southwest State University. Since joining, she has conducted over 2,500 interviews with children, adolescents, and vulnerable adults, bringing her career total to more than 3,500 interviews. She co-developed and continues to facilitate CornerHouse’s training program for mandated reporters, sharing her expertise with professionals. With over a decade of experience in juvenile probation, adolescent residential treatment, and child protection services, Anne is deeply committed to supporting vulnerable populations.
BARBARA K-P, Forensic Interviewer
Barb holds undergraduate degrees in Family Life and Health and Nursing, along with advanced practice credentials in Nurse-Midwifery, Women’s Health, and Forensic Nursing. Certified as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) for both Pediatric (SANE-P) and Adult/Adolescent (SANE-A) populations, she has conducted over 500 medical forensic exams. As an educator and practitioner in Forensic Nursing, Barb has collaborated closely with CornerHouse and the Multi-Disciplinary Team to support the integrity of forensic interviews. She is passionate about ensuring that children’s voices are heard through the forensic interview process at CornerHouse.
Emma s, forensic interviewer and Trainer
Emma joined CornerHouse as a Child & Family Advocate in 2019 and became part of the Forensic Interviewing team in 2021. She holds a Master’s degree in Human Services with an emphasis in Forensic Behavioral Health from Concordia University in St. Paul and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with minors in Legal Studies and Political Science from Beloit College. Before CornerHouse, Emma worked at a youth residential treatment facility, where she helped design and implement an Aftercare Program to support adolescent boys reintegrating into their communities and reduce recidivism. A former intern at CornerHouse, Emma is thrilled to continue to support children and families.
Isabelle F, Forensic Interviewer and Trainer
Isabelle joined CornerHouse in 2024 and holds a master’s degree in Sociology with a focus on Criminology from McGill University. During her six years at McGill, Isabelle conducted research on best practices in forensic interviewing with children from diverse backgrounds. Her experience also includes working with adult victim-survivors of sexual violence and supporting children and adults in Canada’s welfare systems.
MICHELLE H, Trainer and Forensic interviewer
Michelle is a Trainer and Forensic Interviewer at CornerHouse, where she facilitates training for professionals on forensic interviewing and related topics. She holds a Master’s Degree in Human Services: Child Protection with an emphasis in Psychology of Child Advocacy and is certified as a Diplomat Child Forensic Interviewer through the National Association of Certified Child Forensic Interviewers. Michelle has conducted over 1,200 forensic interviews at Children’s Advocacy Centers. She also has extensive experience in community outreach, crisis intervention, child abuse assessment, fact and expert witness testimony, and prevention activities.
STEPHANIE R, MA, Forensic Interviewer
Stephanie joined the CornerHouse team in January 2019. She began her career as frontline staff at St. Joseph’s Home for Children in Minneapolis before earning her Master of Counseling from MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, KS. After graduating, she worked as a forensic interviewer and trainer in Kansas City, MO, conducting over 1,000 interviews with children, teens, and vulnerable adults. In 2016, Stephanie returned to Minnesota and worked as a Victim Assistant Specialist with the Jacob Wetterling Resource Center and the National Child Protection Training Center.
Forensic Services
MALLORY T, Forensic Services manager
Mallory joined the CornerHouse team in July of 2018. She brings with her a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Adult and Family Services from Iowa State University. Before coming to CornerHouse, Mallory worked for five years as a full-time caregiver and also has previous work experience at a children's advocacy center in Nashville, TN. Mallory is passionate about supporting children and families through advocacy and trauma-informed care.
Abby S, Forensic Services Specialist
Abby joined CornerHouse in June of 2023. She has her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse alongside a minor in Interpersonal Communication. Abby was also a part of an advocacy group within the athletics during her time in Wisconsin. Abby enjoys working at CornerHouse are because she loves being able to interact with children of all ages and that each day is a new opportunity for her to learn and grow both personally and professionally.
Blair I, Forensic Services Specialist
Blair joined CornerHouse in February of 2023. She earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia, where she primarily studied Creative Writing and African American Literature. Blair began her career in human services working with vulnerable adults living with severe and persistent mental illness. She is committed to supporting individuals through compassionate, trauma-informed care and advocacy, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
Maddy D, Forensic Services Specialist
Maddy joined the Cornerhouse team in May of 2024, she is a licensed social worker holding a bachelor's degree in social work and a minor in child advocacy studies from Winona State University . She is driven by the desire to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children, helping create a safe environment where they can share their experiences, access support, and ultimately begin the healing process.
Paulina D, Forensic Services Specialist
Paulina joined the CornerHouse team in September of 2023. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BA in Psychology, and certificates in Criminal Justice and Global Health. During her time in Madison, she worked part-time for a Child Advocacy Center. It was there that she learned of her interest in CAC's and her passion for supporting children and families.
Training
KATIE B, Trainer
Katie brings 17 years of experience as a child protection social worker to the CornerHouse training department. She graduated from the University of Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and completed her teaching certification at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Through conducting child protection investigations, she has had the opportunity to conduct forensic interviews with nearly 800 children and adolescents as part of a multi-disciplinary team. At CornerHouse, she provides forensic interview training to professionals who conduct forensic interviews or are members of multi-disciplinary teams addressing abuse of vulnerable populations.
Mental Health
Tina s, Child and family therapist, Support Group Lead
Tina Strong, Ph.D., joined the CornerHouse team in October of 2018. She is a Child and Family Therapist and coordinates support group activities. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Hamline University and her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles. Over the past two decades, Tina has worked in several non-profit social service and community mental health agencies in both Minnesota and California including working as a women’s and youth therapist at Domestic Abuse Project. She has experience providing individual and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults affected by trauma.
Inesa Z, MSW, LICSW, Clinical Supervisor
Inesa is a Family Services Therapist and Clinical Supervisor at CornerHouse. She received her Bachelor’s in Social Work from Metropolitan State University and her Master’s in Social Work from University of Minnesota. Over the past 5 years, she has been working at CornerHouse providing individual and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults affected by trauma. She also has worked as a Trauma Social Worker at Children’s Hospital Minnesota. Inesa is proficient in Russian and fluent in Spanish, and she is passionate serving families of culturally diverse backgrounds.
Advocates
Abigail F., Child and Family Advocacy Manager
Abby joined the CornerHouse team in September of 2023. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy for the University of Minnesota. Abby has worked in trauma-informed care for almost 10 years - from research on the impacts of trauma on children and adolescents at the U of M, to volunteering in community violence intervention centers, to mentoring refugee students, she is passionate about helping those impacted by trauma. Helping families reach the other side of heartache is what motivates Abby the most.
Caitie W, CHILD AND FAMILY ADVOCATE
Caitie joined the CornerHouse team in July of 2022. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Macalester College with a double Minor in French and Religious Studies. Caitie has a particular passion for Forensic Psychology and how trauma impacts children and their families. In college, she worked with domestic violence and reproductive rights organizations and she brings this love for advocacy into her role working at CornerHouse.
Administration
Elena P, Bilingual Coordinator and Bookkeeper
Elena has joined CornerHouse in February of 2024 as a bilingual coordinator and bookkeeper! She graduated from Bethel University with a B.A in Psychology, and a business minor. Elena is motivated by helping people and she hopes to create a welcoming space here at CornerHouse and use her people-skills to serve and build relationships.
Fund Development
Mirnesa H, Development and Training Coordinator
Mirnesa has been with the CornerHouse team since May of 2022. She graduated from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Political Science, and Global Studies with an emphasis in Human Rights. Mirnesa’s passion for helping people continued through her internships with The Center for Victims of Torture and The Advocates for Human Rights. She supports multiple departments across the organization with her many skills, especially utilizing her communication, marketing and writing skills.
