Help us pass SB 1852/HB 2121 and SB 887/HB 740

CornerHouse has 2 bills proposed during this legislative session which will help us expand our infrastructure and programming to serve more children. We need your help to get these passed!

Here’s what the bills propose:

Senate File 1852 / House File 2121
A 2-year appropriation for CornerHouse to expand its prevention programming across the state, and to expand child abuse response services in Hennepin and Anoka Counties.

Senate File 887 / House File 740
A one-time capital investment to renovate and equip a new facility in St. Anthony. This will provide CornerHouse with space to respond to more cases of child abuse and expand its services to children and families.

I am writing to you as a supporter of CornerHouse, and a citizen concerned for the wellbeing of MN's children.

I support CornerHouse because I know how important it is to keep kids safe from abuse. Trauma from abuse affects a child's short- and long-term development and health, and if left untreated can follow children into adulthood, affecting their livelihood and ability to thrive. A report published by CornerHouse uncovers that thousands of MN children and families need support for abuse intervention, prevention, and healing services.

I'm asking you to support Senate Files 1852 and 887, and House Files 740 and 2121, which will enable CornerHouse to expand to serve more children and families, and expand prevention services to stop abuse before it occurs. This necessary investment in our children's future will:

  • Provide infrastructure support needed to expand children and family services to 3,000 additional children in Hennepin County

  • Bring prevention support to 17,000 children and families

  • Launch services in Anoka County

  • Provide the platform for prevention and mental health services in both rural and urban Minnesota
